gas tracker

The Gas Tracker works by sending a pulse into a PE pipe, which is picked up by a receiver, which in turn sends a signal onto a handheld device.

Our engineers can track this signal to determine the location of the mains and surfaces, marking this up on the surface in the process. This information can be accurately marked up on a map of the gas network using related CAD software.

This technique has the major benefit of tracing the mains and services without the need of carrying out any excavations.

G.P.R. - ground penetrating radar

Our engineers are also trained in the use of Ground Penetrating Radar, a simple and dependable tool for quickly and easily locating, avoiding or mapping underground utility assets.

f.i.d. - Flame ionisation detector

In addition, we also use Flame Ionisation Detectors to carry out gas leakage surveys. Our engineer sweeps the surface of the ground with the wand attachment of the Flame Ionisation Detector, which can detect any gas present to within an accuracy of 10,000 ppm.

We also offer service/mains camera surveys, i.e. blocked service/mains for water ingress and poor pressure.
